FLAVOIL ATTENDS NEODA MEETING

A delegation from FlavOil recently attended a meeting of NEODA (National Edible Oil Distributors association) in the picturesque setting of the Beamish Museum near Newcastle.
The meeting commenced with the formal welcome of FlavOil to the association and our delegates responded with good wishes. The meeting was well attended by representatives of all the big edible oil companies in the UK and affiliated industries.

A particular theme was the promotion of fish in everyone's diet, which is universally acknowledged to be desirable for health. Different strategies were discussed to achieve this worthy aim and speculations on funding from relevant authorities was discussed. It was made clear that both NEODA and NFFF (National Fish Friers Federation) would play a leading role in this.

This is an annual event in the UK and a top priority for NEODA. There will be a number of initiatives designed to raise funds for this national promotion which costs a five figure sum and various suggestions were raised regarding publicity and promotions.

These days practically every meeting has its Brexit discussion and this was no exception. Its an important topic but there seem to be no answers as yet. The current state of the GBP is an indication that the City is equally flummoxed. We will just have to wait and see.

A delegation from FlavOil paid a visit to the excellent facilities at the National Federation of Fish friers (NFFF) in Leeds, England this week. The delegation consisted of sales manager, Robin Tillmanns, marketing manager, Martin McHugh and in the role of photographer, our versatile office manager Tanya Bland. FlavOil were excited to be part of the huge IFE Expo in London’s ExCel Centre over 4 days this week. The show is the biggest Food and Drink Event in the UK and is held once every two years.
